| If transitioning to sleep is a problem, ask your OT about a weighted sleeping blanket. Usually done at 10% of total body weight they are available in Crib to King size. WEIGHTED BLANKETS CAN ONLY BE USED WITH SUPERVISION AS THEY SHOULD NOT BE LEFT ON ALL NIGHT. Having an even pressure of weight over the entire body, shoulders to feet feels great. It makes it very easy to relax and fall very deeply asleep. No more bedtime battles, what a thought, maybe even sleeping all night. These blankets can help in allot of different situations. For someone that is deaf, once they close their eyes they are completely cut off and vulnerable, the weight of the blanket can make a big difference. For anyone that has trouble transitioning to sleep please consider a weighted blanket. The weight is plastic pellets that are stitched inside fabric that is stitched inside the fabric that you can see. The blankets, when needed, can go in the washer and dryer. I do recommend a commercial front load machine especially for bigger than twin size. The weights are not removable. All of the weight is centered in the blanket so as to fit around the body and not hang of the edge of the bed. The sections of weight are loosely filled to help them conform. As with all my products I can use any type or weight, color or print fabric. |
